    Members and Associates,

    We will be having a legislative reception on Monday, March 21 from 5 to 7:30 pm at the Embassy Suites 175 10th St. E. St. Paul, MN 55101.  In the afternoon we will offer shuttle service to and from the capitol grounds in order for members and associates to meet with their elected officials.  We will have packets available that outline our proposed legislation and talking points to cover with the legislators.  That evening their will be the reception at the Embassy Suites with plenty of appetizers and a cash bar. A room block has been established at the Embassy with the corporate rate of $140. Please contact the Embassy Suites at 651-224-5400 if you would like a room reserved in your name in the ACM block.

    At the 2015 Annual meeting in Duluth on Friday, November 20, 2015 voting membership approved a dues increase effective on January 1, 2016. Member dues will increase from $250.00 to $275.00 and Associate Member dues will increase from $250.00 to $300.00.  ACM dues had not increased since 2010.

    Below is a note from Tracy Wigen, organizer of the monthly gaming discussion group held in the Mpls./St. Paul metro area.  It is open to anyone involved with charitable gaming.  Some months there are presenters, some months it is group discussion, but it is always interesting and beneficial to me.  Ours can be a lonely business if you don't have regular contact with others that understand what you are dealing with on a regular basis.

    In January we will be meeting at the Roseville VFW and Louis Karsnia will be speaking about his new web site based bookkeeping program.

    Please review the attached pdf for clarification on what you should be paying your employees.  We are continually working to have our determination of size be sales minus prizes, but as of today sales is the sole determiner of large versus a small employer.

    I received a call today from a non ACM member charity.  I was told that they have been getting invoices from ACM for equipment.  I told the charity that ACM does not sell equipment.  The only invoices that we issue are for annual membership, currently at $250 per year for both members and associate members.  As of January 1, 2016, members approved at the 2015 annual meeting that annual dues will be going to $275 for members and $300 for associate members on your annual renewal date.  There will be no $25 or $50 invoice for the increase coming from ACM.  If you receive an invoice that says it is from ACM, but does not seem correct, please call or scan/fax the invoice to ACM.  Regards, Al Lund
